She had a career as a teacher and taught Home Economics and Art Design at Clayton Valley High School. After retiring, she has taken many classes to expand her knowledge in every different type of quilting. She likes the challenge of learning a new technique or style and putting her own spin on it. "Clematis" (2018) This quilt is an original design inspired by a photo I took of Clematis. I started it in a class with Jane Sassaman at Art Quilt Tahoe using Cherrywood and hand-dyed fabrics.
Blooms ala Benner (2022) I was inspired by Sue Brenner's Trellis quilt series. The quilt is made by layering many fused fabrics and finished with free motion quilting.
"Flower Kaleidoscope" - 2024 Judged Winner - Original Design - 2nd Place I learned this layered construction technique for drawing, cutting, assembling, and arranging the flowers in a class from Sue
