THE FARMHOUSE and SMALL GROUP MEETINGSGQCCC offers opportunities for members to gather in small groups to sew, quilt, and build friendships. The Farmhouse is a “members only” classroom, part of a larger facility operated by the Contra Costa Farm Bureau. The guild library is housed here, containing over 200 books for members to check out. The Farmhouse comfortably accommodates up to 11 members with sewing machines at a time, and maybe a few more if there are members who do hand sewing. The space has plenty of natural light and a large design wall. It is equipped with large tables, irons, ironing boards, and a cutting table with rulers and mats. A water dispenser is available in the room for hot and cold water. Small Group sessions are open to all members, they are not exclusive. While we do not place limits on the number of members in a Small Group, there are room size constraints to be considered. If you are not a regular member of a Small Group, or if you wish to use the space to work on your own project, please contact the small group Hostess in advance to find out if there is room for you during their session. Should you wish to start a new group or hold a special event at the Farmhouse, you may reserve the space by contacting our Farmhouse Manager, Mary Stockler, to discuss options and secure a time and date. Please review The Farmhouse rules listed in the Member Guide prior to going to the Farmhouse, and be aware that social distancing protocols may be in effect or recommended from time to time, depending on County regulations. |
