| CLEOPATRA'S WALLPAPER63″ X 84″This year's stunning quilt challenged the gifted hands of our quilters with the multiple techniques used to create it: English Paper Piecing (EPP), Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP), hand appliqué, and traditional machine piecing. Each block is an elegant interpretation of a hue using multiple fabrics, with the overall effect of stained glass. This quilt widens GQCCC's 50-year tradition of hand-quilted opportunity quilts to include custom longarm quilting with a spectacular modern color flair. The pattern is Brimfield Awakening’s “Cleopatra’s Wallpaper”, which is based on their original Brimfield Meadows EPP pattern and expanded to include FPP fans and diamonds. Kim and Nisha of Brimfield Awakening were inspired by vintage fan blocks they picked up at the Brimfield Antiques Show. We thank them for use of their pattern for this opportunity quilt!
